I'm going to go back...I really like this post. I'm going to go back and reread. I agree with so much you say and "think on" many of the same topics you bring up. I don't think it's simply protestant guilt or new england puritanism. It's hard to live the sort of life you talk about. There's not a lot of mainstream support for it.
